زراعة العدسات داخل العين Cataract زراعة العدسات داخل العين عدسة   العين   هى العضو المسؤول عن تركيز الأشعه القادمه من الجسم للتركيز على نقطه على الشبكيه وهى شفافه وإذا حدثت بها عتامه يطلق عليها لفظ المياه البيضاء او الكتاركتا وتحتاج لعملية جراحية لإزالتها وزرع عدسه أخرى صناعية مكانها . تاريخ زراعه عدسه العين   Secondary Intraocular Lens Implant بدأ زراعة العدسات سير هارولد ريدلى سنة 1958 بعد إكتشافه لها مصادفة عندما إستُدعى لعلاج أحد الطيارين الذي أصيب في عينه منذ فترة في الحرب العالمية الأولى ودخل زجاج   الطائرة واستقر في عدسة عينه لسنوات طويله.. ففكر في ان هذا   الزجاج   مادة خامله ولا تؤثر على العين ومن هنا جاءت فكرة زرع العدسات داخل العين بدلاً من عملية ازالة المياه البيضاء أو عدسة العين بدون استبدالها بعدسات أخرى. وكانت العمليات الجراحية تتم قبل زراعة   العدسات   بإزالة الطبيب للعدسه المعتمه بدون استبدالها بعدسة أخرى، فكان المريض الطبيعى الذي يرى جيداً في الصغر عندما يصاب بالمياه البيضاء سواء مع السن أو نتيجة ...
